Helmet Graduation!!!

Sweet Chloe graduated from her helmet last Friday. She wore the helmet for less than 3 months and her doctors were shocked at how fast her head was corrected. A few days before her graduation she went for her 9 month wellness visit and sweet Chloe is quite a BIG girl! She is off the charts in height, weight and head size. Our little butterball! She is 25 pounds and every bit as heavy as that sounds. Butterball is right on the same track as her big bubba was on. Here is a pic of our sweet angel and her perfectly shaped noggin...

Cupcakes

So, I decided to make cupcakes and Cole was very into helping. I was so excited for him to help but he decided that he would rather PRETEND and make PRETEND soup...

While Cole was busy making "soup" Chloe did this...

And I got to the real task at hand...
THE CUPCAKES!

Updates

Okay so I'm so bad about adding pictures to this thing. I have to upload from my camera and that is just one more thing to have to do while tending to my kiddos. I promise to come back in and add pictures! Anyway, we went today to Chloe's helmet adjustment appointment and found out that after Chloe goes back for her scan in 2 weeks (March 5) she will more than likely only wear the helmet at night from that point and will only have to do that for 3 more weeks! Yippeeeeee! This journey has gone by so fast! Don't get me wrong... I am so ready to be done with that helmet so that I can love on my little girl and kiss her sweet head anytime I want! She continues to be so stinking sweet and super easy other than for naps! She likes to give me a hard time when it comes to that.
Cole is good after having a rough few days. He has yet AGAIN, another double ear infection. He then had a bad reaction to the antibiotics and vomited all day yesterday. Poor guy! I feel like I poisoned him and just feel awful that he was so sick. He is now on a new antibiotic and getting back to his old self.

Not much else is going on around here. I leave for NYC next Friday and couldn't be more excited. I have such a great hubby for letting me go on a girl's trip all the way to New York while he tends to our kids. Life is good.....

6 week scan

Chloe had her first scan since she has been wearing the helmet this morning. Her results were great! Her head has grown 10mm since her first scan and her measurements have gotten so much better. It's amazing to see the difference between the two scans and to see the comparison of how much her head has closed up since last time. Babies grow so much between 6 and 9 months! We go back for another scan in 4 weeks and we hope to see another big improvement. If so, this could be pretty much it for the ole helmet days! Chloe doesn't mind her helmet at all, but I'm ready to be able to cuddle with my baby and kiss her little head instead of having a big helmet in my way. Cole went with us to the scan and told the doctor, as he has told me the last few days that he is a baby and he wants a paci and a diaper. I once again told him that he is not a baby and he said, "Yes, I am Momma's baby, not baby sister!" Someone must be jealous! What are we going to do with that kid!

Happy Birthday!!!

My sweet Cole turns 3 years old today! I can't believe it has been 3 years since that baby entered my life. There is really nothing like the moment you welcome your first born child into the world. Cole was born at 11:50 pm, just 10 minutes shy of being born on the 15th. I had an easy labor and delivery with him and from the moment they put him on my chest, I was forever in love. My best friend was born 3 years ago today and I am so blessed and thank God for you, Cole. Happy Birthday! I love you...

Big boy room

Well, we spent yesterday transforming Cole's nursery into his "big boy room" and he loves it! We had to paint it in order for it to look good with his bedding which has not come in yet. We used an old queen bed that we had stored and he is loving that he has a real bed and not a toddler bed anymore. It made me sad to take things down b/c it's just a reminder of how big he is getting. His room is too small to fit a big bed and his big chair so we moved the chair into the playroom, meaning that we had to move the desk out of the playroom. So..... yesterday we rearranged a few rooms! All is looking good now!
Chloe is doing great. She is totally used to her helmet and we actually feel as though we already see some improvement. She still has a way to go but it's great to see improvement so early on. We have a busy week ahead with Cole's birthday festivities to prepare for. More later!

Improvement!

Finally.... Cole is better! So, I decided to take Cole to the doc AGAIN on Wed after he had run the high fever the night before. I just figured that we might need to go in since he wasn't getting better, but actually getting worse. So glad we went! He was apparently not responding to the antibiotics. He had very infected ears, one of which had fluid behind the eardrum. He had to have a strong antibiotic shot and was put on a new oral antibiotic. Once we got home, he started feeling better. Yesterday and today he has been a new child! We will go back in 2 weeks for his 3 year checkup and to see how his ears are healing.
Chloe is doing really well with her helmet. She pretty much had it on all day today. It was an 8 hour wear-time today so she wore it until 4pm, off for an hour and then back on. Tonight is her first night to sleep in it so I hope it's not a horrible night! Please, please, please let her sleep well! Off to San Antonio tomorrow to the Alamo Bowl. Looking forward to some fun time with Mark and Ashley and sad that Mike Leach will no longer lead the Red Raiders. More later...
